The Great North Run is to be held on 10th September, famous for its inclusive atmosphere, unbeatable on-route entertainment and warm Geordie welcome, not to mention the millions raised each year for worthy causes. From the rush of the Red Arrows flying overhead to the oggy-oggy-oggy chants, Great North Run magic can be hard to understand – until you’ve experienced it for yourself on the Newcastle to South Shields route.

If you would like to take on this iconic challenge for the first time or the 20th time we would love you to run with Team FACT, you will receive a FACT T-shirt for the day, and an itab entry.

All we ask is a commitment to raise £250, and an entry fee of £89 (this covers FACT costs) all your fundraising will go towards enabling FACT to help and support those people and families who have been affected by cancer and to help us open FACT’s very own support centre in Gateshead which is scheduled for 2023.

Team FACT 2022 had an amazing run and collectively raised over £13k an amazing amount!

Team FACT vests were spotted on the 2022 route, where FACT supporters watched on, Wendy said “It was amazing to see so many FACT friends along the way, as we ran the route to South Shields. All the shouts of encouragement meant the world”. Claire commented “We saw a group of guys running for FACT around mile 5, they were singing and having a great time and one guy pipped us at the post wearing his FACT vest”.

Laura ran for FACT following the support her Mum received after a diagnosis of breast cancer she said “I chose to run for FACT because they’ve helped my Mam so much. From counselling sessions, exercise classes and the overall support from her FACT family. It was lovely seeing so many other FACT runners on the day and we all cheered each other along. My brother James also ran for FACT. It was a tough route and a hot day but with encouragement from all the amazing supporters. Well done everyone!”
